About MKN
“राष्ट्रोत्थान के लिए नारी शिक्षा “ with this objective, Mahila Kala Niketan is working in Nagpur since 1982. Late Leelatai Chati generously donated her house for this work. This is an educational project of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, was established on 27 April 1982. . MKN is a registered trust, in Gorepeth area, Nagpur . Reg No – F-3411
The founder of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti Vandaniya Lakshmibai alias Mausiji Kelkar thought that ,’The role of teacher, writer, speaker and leader is important in nation-building. If they want, they can turn the society in the right direction’. Keeping this idea in mind, Mahila Kala Niketan is giving excellent training to girls. and women and are made self-reliant. For this, two courses recognized by Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University are run by the organization. So far more than 1000 women have been benefited by this project.

For more than 40 years Mahila Kala Niketan has been working to empower women from under privileged backgrounds, through education and upskilling, enabling them to earn and live better. We believe education is the greatest equalizer.

Pre Primary Teacher’s Training
To achieve women empowerment through education, various certificate courses, recognised by RTM, Nagpur University like Pre Primary teachers & Craft teachers training courses are conducted by MKN. Till now, more than 1000 plus students have taken these training and are successfully working as Principal, Supervisors and Teachers in charge in reputed Pre-primary schools in and outside Nagpur. Also some are running their own Pre-schools.
Craft Teacher’s Training

Ankur Preschool
An English Medium School is run by MKN. Children from underprivileged society are the main beneficiaries of the school. All round development of students is focused with regular curriculum in school.
Ankur Daycare
Apart from this extending the helping hand towards working women, trust runs a Day care Center with special facility of giving fresh and nutritious food to children. Ample space for enjoying indoor and outdoor games, Sanskar Varg and other activities are arranged throughout the year.
Ankur Bazaar
During Corona pandemic, giving new dimensions to our projects, trust has started Atma Nirbharta Nari Abhiyan. Under this the women artisans and entrepreneurs are given platform to exhibit and sale their handmade Swadeshi articles in Ankur Saptahik Bazar, resulting in building confidence, getting self-employment and raising their livelihood.
